Memento" is a mobile game that creates a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing by addressing the issue of Post Natal Depression (PND), Memento's unique approach to storytelling allows players to gain empathy and understanding for those who suffer from PND, particularly for the partner who may not fully comprehend the emotional and mental toll it takes on the mother.
The game's focus on retrieving happy memories and the reward of puzzle pieces to help the mother to regain a sense of self and promote positive mental health. It encourages the importance of self-care and the value of small steps towards healing and recovery. On the other hand, by providing a journey for the father to explore and understand the mother's experience in PND, the game can promote better communication and support within relationships in terms of empathy. This can reduce feelings of isolation and hopelessness that often accompany PND.
