This project aims to raise awareness of how our daily Co2 footprint in diet can eventually cause the environmental crisis, we’ve been given a brief of challenging the conventions of broadcasting by creating a notation system, a system of written symbols, to be translated into sound and broadcast to an audience. This was quite challenging for our group, we decided to start with sound art and performance, John Cage’s art piece Water Walk inspired us to create a system or an installation that can be physically engaged and makes sound by order, the sound created in this process could be seen as a type of unconventional broadcast. How to communicate with audiences and make them aware of the issues through the engage and interact process is a core value of this project, our group focus on how people who became vegan can actually reduce environmental issues caused by Co2 production, we replaced the scientific study of Co2 footprint in foods by Greeneatz to physical components of balls, audiences can pick up a certain quantity of balls that match the food they had in a day and throw into the installation, quality of balls equal to every kilo of food Co2 footprint emission, food like nuts, vegetables, potatoes are around 1-5, lamb and beef are around 25-40, 5balls is a boundary between vegan and non-vegan, more balls audiences throw into the installation system the longer sound will make, which means more environmental issues causes, we use this type of physical broadcast to deliver a core value to audiences.
